MEET OUR FOUNDER
David Steadman
Hockey has been a defining part of David's life since childhood. Growing up in Ontario, Canada, the sport shaped his character, taught him resilience, and gave him a lifelong sense of belonging.
After a 40-year career building and operating furniture stores and furniture rental companies, David and his wife, Donna, chose to dedicate their retirement to something deeply meaningful: growing the hockey community in Houston.
Through Houston Hockey Community, David's mission is to make hockey accessible to everyone—regardless of age, background, ability, or financial situation. HHC supports all forms of the game, including street, ball, roller, sled, and ice hockey, creating opportunities for people of all experience levels to learn, play, and belong.

Our Mission
We believe hockey should be accessible to everyone.
For too long, many Houston families have faced barriers to participating in hockey, whether due to cost, limited facilities, lack of equipment, or simply not knowing where to start. Houston Hockey Community was created to change that.
Our mission is to grow the game by providing affordable, inclusive, and welcoming opportunities for youth and adults to learn, play, and connect through hockey. We believe sports have the power to build confidence, create lifelong friendships, strengthen communities, and teach valuable life skills that extend far beyond the rink.
By expanding access to ice hockey, roller hockey, ball hockey, and community programming, we are working to create a future where every person in Houston has the opportunity to experience the game and the community that comes with it.
